Victoria College of Music
Although Victoria College of Music is one of the lesser known music examination boards, over the years it has become one of the leading and most popular ones and the only examination boards to date to offer the full range of graded examinations for the electronic Keyboard from the very ‘First Steps’ up to and including the ‘Fellowship Diploma’.

Examinations in Electronic Keyboard and Piano differ completely in the techniques and technical skills involved and both instruments demand very different skills especially at the higher grades. Keyboard examinations require:
- A good knowledge of the keyboard and its technical functions.
- An ability to keep constantly with the backing rhythm.n
- An ability to play pieces in a variety of styles including Classical, Jazz and Pop
- An ability to improvise and compose (particularly when medleys are played).
- An ability to change voices, rhythms, and fill ins, with the use of foot switches.
- An ability to change dynamic ranges through use of an expression pedal.
